Something new is growing at Greener Huntly — and it lives online.
We're launching a series of topic-based groups you can join directly from our website. These are spaces where local people connect with one another and with our network of experts, organised around specific areas of interest: growing food, caring for wildlife, managing greenspace, and more.
The idea is simple. Not everyone can make it to an event or a session, but that shouldn't mean missing out on knowledge or community. Our online groups are open to anyone, and you can join at any point — there's no start date, no commitment, and no expertise required.
Each group will have integrated course material developed around the actual questions people are asking and the topics that come up in conversation. That means the content evolves with the group itself, shaped by what members want to learn and explore. If you've got a question that keeps coming up in your garden or on your allotment, chances are others have it too.
Our experts — from ecologists and growers to crofters and community gardeners — dip in regularly to answer questions, share knowledge, and point people in useful directions. You'll also be connecting with your neighbours: people who understand the conditions, the soil, the seasons, and the quirks of growing and living in this part of Aberdeenshire.
These groups sit alongside our WhatsApp community and our in-person activities as another way to stay connected and keep learning. You don't have to be particularly tech-savvy, and you definitely don't have to know what you're doing yet.
Join us, ask your questions, and see what grows.
