While you follow the path until the next waymark, pick leaves of as MANY DIFFERENT trees and shrubs as you can find and take them home.

When at home, make leaf rubbings of all the leaves on a piece of paper with the crayons that you got. On a flat hard surface, lay a piece of paper over the leaf, hold it all down with one hand, and with the other hand rub over it with the crayon, until you see the outline of the leaf.
